Day 1
Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Draa Valley – Zagora
We cross the High Atlas by the Tizi n'Tichka pass and stop at Ait Ben Haddou to walk through the ksar. After Ouarzazate the road climbs the Tizi n'Tinififft and drops into the Draa Valley at Agdz, where the palm grove begins. We follow the river south past kasbahs of packed earth to Zagora, then ride camels into the dunes for dinner and a night in camp.

Day 2
Zagora – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Sunrise over the desert, then breakfast in camp before we return through the Draa Valley. We stop in Ouarzazate — you can visit the Atlas Film Studios or the Taourirt Kasbah — then cross the Atlas back to Marrakech, arriving in the early evening.

Zagora or Merzouga — which desert should I choose?
Merzouga has the tall Saharan dunes people picture, but needs three days from Marrakech. Zagora is reachable in two and the Draa Valley scenery on the way is superb, though the dunes are smaller. If you only have two days, Zagora is the honest answer.
How long is the camel ride?
About forty-five minutes each way. If you would rather not ride, we can drive you to the camp by 4x4 instead at no extra cost.
