Design your own desert days
The usual shape is a late-afternoon camel trek an hour into the dunes, dinner and drumming at camp, a night under the stars and a dune climb for sunrise. Around that you can add a 4x4 circuit of the erg, quad biking, sandboarding, the musicians at Khamlia, the old caravan town of Rissani and its market, or a morning with a nomad family. Tell us how long you have and we will put the days together.

Questions about this trip
Can I book only the desert camp without a tour?
Yes. Many travellers drive themselves to Merzouga or come by bus and book only the camel trek and the camp. We meet you in the village and take it from there.
How cold is the desert at night?
From December to February it drops close to freezing after dark, and camps provide heavy blankets. Bring a warm layer even in spring — the temperature swing between afternoon and night is large all year.
